Bryan Art Path (BAP) is a 3-4 mile corridor of high quality murals stretching from Northgate, through a rejuvenated midtown, into downtown Bryan, TX.

The first mural in the series features acclaimed Austin-based artist Phoebe Joynt and was completed in October 2024. (Photos: Alex Beckman for Destination Bryan).

A second mural by a world famous French street artist has already been funded and is scheduled for completion in the summer/fall of 2025, and additional murals are also being organized.

ABOUT BRYAN ART PATH

The purpose of BAP is to create a public, world-class outdoor art gallery of sufficient stature to attract national attention and boost tourism, increasing economic opportunities and quality of life for local residents and businesses.

The Bryan Art Path concept was conceived by Beast Syndicate (BEAST), an independent design studio located in downtown Bryan, TX. Seeing first-hand how public art can positively impact neighborhoods, BEAST believes that a strategic public art program has an important role in the successful redevelopment of Midtown and long-term prosperity of downtown Bryan.

The prospective centerpiece of BAP is the world-class XL mural on the Frontier building (and/or Palace theater), with other art throughout downtown and along the railroad, S Main St. and S College Avenue.

Currently 10-15 strategically located mural sites have been identified (and relationships cultivated with necessary property owners), to be added piecemeal as artists and funds become available.

An initial Bryan Art Path mural, featuring acclaimed Austin-based artist Phoebe Joynt, is planned for completion in October 2024. Significant funding and support from the City of Bryan and Destination Bryan has made this possible, via the new Arts & Culture Development Grant. A second mural featuring a major NYC-based French artist has already been approved for 2025, with plans for further artists/locations in coming years.

A well curated project of this scope and quality has the power to elevate the importance of art in the community, inspiring creativity across all art forms and creative thinking among local entrepreneurs and business leaders. In addition, it offers a highly visible, tangible expression of purpose and care for the community.  Local residents will benefit from increased civic pride and wellbeing as BAP brightens the aesthetic landscape of downtown, and signals that high quality art is welcome in Bryan.
